I’m a London based User Researcher who enjoys taking ideas from abstract to delight.
My Desert Island Discs would be Going to California by Led Zeppelin, Them by Jon Ronson, and my luxury item would be a cardboard cutout of Adam Buxton so I can pretend to hang out with him all day.
Our aim for creating personas was to allow visibility of customers to a team whose UX maturity and knowledge of their users was quite low. Through 29 customer interviews, an internal workshop, and lots of discussions we created 4 proto-personas.
We hadn’t previously thought of our Information Architecture so the aim here was to understand our customers’ mental models around our site’s content, see how we currently matched, and then whether we need to improve. We found that we did need to improve and that the new data-informed taxonomy we proposed performed far better.
This project began after some Discovery work uncovered a few back-of-house issues we thought could be solved with a multi-functional check out machine. Interviews, field studies, and vox pops made up the research side, as well as designing the customer and staff-facing screens.
